Day 4 - Wiggy and the Zoo
6.19.23
On the morning of Monday, June 19th, we went to school with our German partners. Some of us took the bus, some walked, and some even rode bikes. The commute to school is much shorter than in Vermont, and it takes only around 7 minutes to get to school for most of us. At school, we were given a tour by several German students so we could familiarize ourselves with the layout of the school. After the tour, we hung out in our “homeroom” until it was time to go to the zoo.
At the zoo, we were able to split into smaller groups of 2 or more students to wander around and explore the many exhibits. We saw snow leopards, lions, cheetahs, jaguars, elephants, giraffes, maned wolves, zebras, meerkats, a harvest mouse, beavers, seals, penguins, monkeys, and gorillas, lizards, crocodiles, and even 2 wandering peacocks! There were also many different kinds of birds, fish, exotic plants and flowers, insects, and many more.
Once we finished at the zoo and we headed back to school, we met up with our students and headed home or around town to do other activities. Some of us went shopping, others played soccer, or even just went out to explore the city a little bit on electric scooters.
Danke und bis zum nächsten Mal!
